Demonic, Demonic, Demonic!

If you can’t tell by viewing the images and footage on every mainstream media broadcast right now about the October 7th Hamas attacks on Israel I’m here to inform you – that this attack by Hamas terrorists on innocent Israelis can be summed up in one loud, clear, and demonstrative word – DEMONIC! That’s it! Nothing else!

Why would a group of individuals conspire, plan, and plot to do such atrocious things to another nation unless it was demonically inspired? As Dr. Michael Brown states in his article, “Anyone who rejoices over butchering of babies of children is EVIL.”[i]

Let’s stop playing politics and get down to the real reasons this is happening! Demonic-fueled hatred of the Jewish people is the real reason this is happening. It’s too mind-boggling to try to rationalize in some psychological way why this has happened. It can’t be rationalized – no matter how much you want to blame the Jews for being the “evil occupiers” of the land, please ask yourself: Which people group is actually the legitimate occupier of the land?

A Quick History Lesson

After Hitler’s evil attempt to annihilate the Jewish people during the holocaust of WWII in which over 6,000,000 Jews were killed (again, can we say DEMONIC!?!) an agreement was made by the United Nations to create a new nation/state for the dispersed Jewish people, the land Israel now calls home. This land which was controlled by Great Britain was divided between Arabs and Jews.

“On November 29, 1947, the United Nations adopted Resolution 181 (also known as the Partition Resolution) that would divide Great Britain’s former Palestinian mandate into Jewish and Arab states in May 1948 when the British mandate was scheduled to end.”[ii] “On May 14, 1948, in Tel Aviv, Jewish Agency Chairman David Ben-Gurion proclaims the State of Israel, establishing the first Jewish state in 2,000 years. Ben-Gurion became Israel’s first premier.”[iii]

A Quick Bible Lesson

Although the governing bodies of the world gave this land to Israel in 1948, the world needs to know that someone else had already given this land to Israel thousands of years ago – God Himself! It’s recorded in Genesis 12:1 “Now the LORD said to Abram (Abram would soon have his name changed by God to Abraham in Genesis 17), “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.”[iv]

And in Genesis 12:7 we see that “the LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So, we see God choosing a land and a man (and his offspring) to give it to. The land was Canaan which later became known as the Promised Land and the man was Abraham (the great Father of the Faith for both Jews and Christians) whose descendants later became known as Israel. God Himself even laid out the borders of this land in Numbers 34[v] prior to Joshua and the people of Israel taking the land that God had given them.[vi]

Why Does Satan Hate the Jewish People?

It’s clear throughout history that Satan has tried over, and over, and over again to wipe out the Jewish people[vii] and that is exactly what we are witnessing again today – another attempt to destroy God’s chosen people.[viii] But why?

To understand this one must understand the greater purpose behind God choosing them and giving them the land. Israel was chosen by God to bring redemption and salvation to the world. And this redemption and salvation was to come through a figure known as the Messiah.[ix] The greater Jewish world is still waiting for the Messiah’s appearance, but for the Christian, we understand that the Messiah has already come and His name is Jesus.

And we must assuredly understand why Satan is so opposed to the Jews being in the land as well and why he is opposed to them coming to knowledge and understanding of Jesus Christ as their long-awaited Messiah.

Dr. Thomas S. McCall, Professor of Theology and Scholar-in-Residence at Asbury University, explains further, “For Satan, the destruction of Israel is a matter of self-preservation. Ultimately, the survival of Israel results in the eternal perdition of Satan. How can this be? Because when Israel repents and nationally invites the Lord Jesus Christ to be its own Redeemer / Messiah, that generation of Israel will be saved, and Satan’s plan to destroy the Jews will be finally defeated. Christ will return to the Earth, destroy the satanic antiChrist and his armies at Armageddon, establish His Kingdom over Israel and the world for 1,000 years, and then cast the still rebellious Satan into the Lake of Fire forever and ever. (Rev. 20:10)”[x]

Satan knows that His days are limited and His ultimate future lies in a lake of fire. So, Satan’s only way to avoid this is to annihilate the Jews, the people to whom God promised to bring salvation to the entire world which will bring an end to his evil reign on the earth.

Islamic Nazism

Nazism has, among other things, Anti-Semitism (Jewish hatred) at its core. In his recent Townhall article[xi], author and talk show host, Dennis Prager, makes some excellent points on Anti-Semitism “”In every generation they arise to annihilate us.” That statement appears in the Haggadah, the book read from at the Passover Seder. The book is about 1,000 years old; the statement is more than 2,000 years old. A generation or two ago, it was the Nazis who arose to annihilate the Jews. In this generation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and other Islamic movements have risen to annihilate the Jews.”[xii]

Whether it’s Hamas, Hezbollah, Hitler, or Haman, the Jewish people have faced hatred and the threat of annihilation for millennia and it’s time that the whole world understands why!

The Good News – Satan Will One Day Be Annihilated

Jesus the Messiah is returning to destroy Satan once and for all but Jesus won’t be returning until He is welcomed by the believing Jewish people. The words of Jesus are recorded in the book of Matthew as he laments over Jerusalem: Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! 38 See, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”

Did you get that? Jesus, speaking to the city of Jerusalem and the Jewish people, said that they won’t see Him again until they welcome him back by saying those famous Hebrew words, baruch haba beshem Adonai, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

So, Satan knows that as long as he can keep Jewish eyes closed to the reality of Jesus being their Lord and Savior and Messiah, then he will live to see another day. That’s why Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians “In their case [those to whom the gospel has been veiled] the god of this world [that is Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”[xiii]

He wants to destroy the Jews and get them out of the land of Israel, especially the city of Jerusalem, the city to where Jesus will return.[xiv]

But his days are for sure limited and as history has shown us he wants to kill as many Jews as he can and will use whoever he can to do it.

The Greatest Thing We Can Do – Pray!

So let’s pray for the protection and salvation of the Jewish people, for their eyes to be opened, for them to see and “look upon the one whom they have pierced.”[xv] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for disarray and confusion to come to the enemy’s camp; and for those being held hostage to be released.

And please know that to be pro-Israel does not mean to be anti-Arab or anti-Palestinian. God loves Arabs and the Palestinian people![xvi] Pray for them as well. Many innocent civilians in Gaza are facing grave hardship as a result of the evil regime of Hamas. Pray for their protection. And pray also for the eyes of all Muslim peoples around the world to be opened and for them to come to know the truth of Jesus the Messiah as well. For Jesus is not the Messiah and Savior of the Jew alone, no, He is the Messiah and Savior of the world!
